New – Unused – Original Distressed Box
This genuine Wells food warmer is new and unused in its original manufacturer packaging.
The exterior cardboard box shows substantial warehouse and shipping wear, including crushed sections, torn cardboard, open upper flaps, tape, surface dirt, abrasions, handwritten markings, label wear, and general storage damage.
The supplied photographs do not show the actual stainless steel warmer removed from the carton. The product photograph is a reference image representing the MOD200TDM configuration and should not be considered a photograph of the exact unpacked unit.
Because the internal contents are not fully visible, all loose components should be inventoried before installation. Confirm that the dual thermostatic control panel, capillary tubes, electrical wiring, drain manifold, drain valve, mounting hardware, Wellslok components, instructions, and all required fittings remain inside the package.
The distressed condition of the outer cardboard packaging does not automatically indicate damage to the equipment inside. However, the warmer must be unpacked and inspected before shipment, pickup, installation, or energizing.
Please review all supplied photographs for the exact condition of the original packaging.

Description
The Wells 5P-MOD200TDM is a heavy-duty commercial drop-in food warmer designed for installation in a fabricated serving counter, buffet line, cafeteria line, restaurant pass, catering counter, concession stand, or other compatible commercial foodservice fixture.
It contains two rectangular wells that accept two standard 12-inch x 20-inch full-size inset pans or compatible fractional-pan combinations.
Each well has its own remote thermostatic control, allowing two different foods to be held at different heat settings. This is especially useful when one well contains a dense entrée or sauce while the other holds vegetables, soup, gravy, pasta, rice, or another product with different holding requirements.
The unit is designed for either wet or dry operation. Wells recommends wet operation for more consistent heating and improved heat transfer. During wet operation, hot water is placed in the warming well below the inset food pan.
A drain in each well allows water to be removed after operation. Both drains connect to a common manifold so the two wells can be emptied through a shared drain-valve arrangement.
The fully insulated housing helps reduce heat loss, improve energy efficiency, support faster preheating, and protect surrounding counter components from unnecessary heat exposure.
Wells confirms that the MOD200 series accommodates two 12-inch x 20-inch pans, supports wet or dry operation, and uses individual controls, insulated construction, high-limit protection, and tubular heating elements. Official Wells MOD200 product information: https://wells-mfg.com/product/mod200/
Food-Pan Capacity
Number of Wells: 2
Full-Size Pan Capacity: Two 12 in x 20 in Food Pans
Maximum Common Pan Depth: Up to Approximately 6 Inches, Subject to Pan and Counter Configuration
Compatible configurations may include:
Two full-size 12 in x 20 in pans
Four half-size pans
Six third-size pans
Eight quarter-size pans
Other compatible fractional-pan combinations
Round inset pans when used with appropriate adapter tops
Actual capacity depends on the size, depth, flange design, and arrangement of the pans and adapters selected.
Food pans must fit correctly inside the warmer without placing excessive pressure on the stainless steel well or top flange.
Suitable Foods
Soups
Chili
Gravy
Sauces
Rice
Pasta
Mashed potatoes
Vegetables
Beans
Macaroni and cheese
Cooked meats
Cooked poultry
Prepared entrées
Casseroles
Breakfast items
Hot toppings
Curry
Stews
Hot side dishes
Other previously cooked food products suitable for commercial hot holding
This warmer is designed for holding food that has already been properly cooked and heated.
It should not be used as the primary appliance for cooking raw food, reheating refrigerated food, thawing frozen food, or rapidly bringing cold food through the food-safety temperature range.
Heating System
Two independently heated food wells
One tubular heating element beneath each well
Powerful under-pan heating arrangement
Even heat distribution across each warming pan
Individual thermostatic temperature regulation
Separate temperature-ready indicator for each well
High-limit over-temperature protection
Fully insulated sides, front, back, and bottom
Wet or dry operating capability
Wet operation recommended for the most consistent results
The tubular elements are positioned beneath the stainless steel warming pans to provide efficient heat transfer without exposing the elements directly to food or cleaning tools.
Thermostatic Controls
Control Type: Dual Remote Thermostatic Controls
Number of Controls: 2
Control Arrangement: One Control per Well
Control Location: Remotely Mounted Front Control Panel
Indicator Lights: Individual Temperature-Ready Indicators
Safety Protection: High-Limit Protection for Each Heating Circuit
The separate controls allow one well to be switched off or operated at a different setting from the other well.
The remote control assembly must be installed in the counter according to the manufacturer’s required orientation, spacing, ventilation, and capillary-tube routing instructions.
Thermostat capillary tubes must not be sharply bent, crushed, shortened, kinked, or placed against damaging heat sources.
Wet or Dry Operation
The MOD200TDM is designed for wet or dry use.
Wet Operation
Wells recommends wet operation for the most consistent food heating.
Add approximately one inch of hot tap water to each required well before energizing the warmer.
Check the water level regularly and add hot water as necessary.
Wet operation generally provides gentler and more even heat transfer around the inset food pan.
Dry Operation
The warmer may be operated without water when appropriate for the food product and pan configuration.
Dry operation may produce different heating characteristics and requires careful monitoring of food temperature.
Critical Operating Rule
Do not change a hot well directly from wet operation to dry operation or from dry operation to wet operation.
Turn the well off and allow it to cool to room temperature before changing operating methods.
Never add water to an overheated empty well. Rapid cooling can damage or deform the warming pan and may create a steam or burn hazard.
The operating precautions are confirmed in the official Wells built-in modular warmer manual: https://wells-mfg.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/C_M200-thru-M527_-_2M-Z16298-C-011C.pdf.
Drain and Manifold System
Two drained stainless steel wells
One drain for each well
Drain screens for compatible drain assemblies
Shared drain manifold
Single-point manifold drainage arrangement
Remote drain-valve positioning depending on counter design
The Wells sales literature describes the MOD200 series drain-equipped models as having 1/2-inch well drains. The final manifold outlet, valve, and field drain-line sizes must be confirmed from the components packed with this specific assembly before the counter or plumbing is fabricated.
The drain system is intended for removing clean warming water. It is not designed as a food-waste disposer.
Do not pour grease, solid food, utensils, cleaning pads, packaging, or other debris into the wells or drains.
